I decided to finally finish this comic book cover recreation tonight, for Friday the 13th - Issue 1. 16 layers in Photoshop CS2, the coloring took around four hours from start to finish. I left out the text and logo.
Since it contains no direct acts of violence, I left out the mature content warning.
Again, I am in no way claiming any part of the original artwork, the image is only included for comparison reasons.
Original artwork by Ryan Sook and Tim Bradstreet & Grant Goleash.
I'd recommend that you download the zip file which has the full final artwork, comparison and progress images. Comments and critique are most welcome.

This looks like a sweet cover, how many pages did the comic have?
I still remember the scene Kevin Bacon is stabbed with an arrow vividly.
Tom Savigny did the effects on the original. It was so awesome!
